Asynchronous Collision Cone Warning Light

Price range: £32.99 through £33.99

Asynchronous Collision Cone Warning Light intended to be used on traffic cones or road signage by police or Fire and Rescue, operates with a high intensity single flash until impacted or involved in a collision which switches all deployed lights to a rapid flash function

Description

The asynchronous collision cone warning light is an emergency flashing traffic cone mounted warning light with a wireless collision warning feature, hit one and all the others will flash rapidly in unison warning operatives that a barricade breach has occurred.

Available with blue LED’s for emergency services only and yellow for general use, they provide 360 degree visibility in a versatile design that will fit into the nose cone opening of a traffic cone if it has an aperture of 3.2cm or larger.

Emergency Warning Lights (EWL) can be hung from cones or signage using the integral twin clips/arms which benefit from having fixing apertures, The apertures can be used to run cord through a series of lights, this helps maintain a barricade line and secure them in place.

When lights are strung together you get a continual barrier effect so an impact or intrusion is more likely to trigger a warning i.e. a vehicle can’t drive through a gap between traffic cones in the exclusion zone without hitting the connecting cord or rope.

Powered by 2 x AA batteries the cone warning light is a purposely slim design so that it can be inserted into traffic cones with an opening of 3.2cm or larger needing no accessories that have a tendency to get lost or misplaced over time.

Versatile Deployment Options

The twin supporting arms on the light will clip around road traffic cones that have a collared design providing a secure fixing, stopping the light from falling down larger cone apertures and helping to retain them in position if a cone is toppled. TIP Use cord to wrap around the neck of cones and link them together, if one cone is impacted it can topple another. If you have limited number of collision warning EWLs this practise can help you space them out yet still provide a warning if connected traffic cones are toppled (still best to have an appropriate number of EWL’s however).

The fixing points in each of the emergency cone warning light’s arms, allow them to be strung together limiting movement in the event of collision or barricade intrusion, as well as providing a more secure fixing option, cable ties, cords or locks will deter opportunistic theft or unauthorised removal.

Operation

The asynchronous collision emergency warning light is operated by twisting the main battery housing, this operates its single flash pattern that repeats at one second intervals, an impact will trigger a wireless blue-tooth signal that activates all other lights in the vicinity switching all to rapid flash pattern.

IP67 rated the unit is weather proof and designed to be robust for demanding environments.

Dependable Power with  AA Batteries

Replaceable batteries provide operators working in shifts such as Police, Fire & Rescue and highways management with the certainty that the unit can always be ready to go just as long as batteries are available. This is preferred by some operators who cannot wait for warning beacons to be recharged between shifts and handovers.

When kit is in constant use and is a shared asset for example a police vehicle with accompanying battery powered safety equipment, rechargeable battery powered devices can be handed over in an unknown state of charge. The certainty that replaceable batteries provide is sometimes more preferable than waiting for kit to recharge.

The use of 2 x AA batteries means that ‘keeping the lights on’ can be as simple as a visit to a local retailor if caught without spares and this too was a design consideration – AA batteries are an over the counter product in virtually every retailor and petrol station forecourt.

Quality AA batteries will provide a useful 4 hours duration, the light is intended for emergency and hazard scenario’s so duration was not the main driver of this collision warning light’s design (we have larger cone lamps with long duration capability) so we considered this a practical duration for a product primarily designed to fit within a traffic cone nose aperture for short periods of emergency deployment.

Accessories

The design and intended application of the emergency warning light (EWL) is such that no accessories are needed to locate the cone light on a traffic cone subject to the traffic cones having a hole in the top of them. If the traffic cone aperture is too small to drop a light down the centre hang the EWL by its arms/clips.

The same applies to road signage where the arms/clips can be used to hang the EWL off of items or fixed to them using the side aperture fixing points with cable ties or rope/cord for additional security.

At the time of releasing this product there was no ground mounting base option however this is a planned development that can be speeded through subject to any customer demand emerging.  For large order quantities we can have a mould manufactured quickly which would be similar to the that used on our KB flare range of battery operated warning lights which share the characteristics of the eflare (TM) range of beacons.
