Description

A case set of 8 lithium rechargeable batteries for road traffic lamps that can charge in situ within their robust carry case, with UK and in- vehicle charging adapters a case can recharge up to 8 batteries at once within a 2-3 hour period..

An exciting combination of products that offer traffic management operators significant cost saving opportunities as well as green credentials moving away from single use batteries and to renewable sources of power and significant long term cost saving opportunities.

The battery is a 996 4R25 design used in traffic lamps and other devices. It is a LiFe PO4 6V battery producing 8000mAh and has a micro C style adapter charging point with LED indicator status in the form of 4 bars that illuminate green when charging.

Each battery has a power status button that can be pressed to assess battery charge status, a feature rarely seen on the few rechargeable batteries currently available in a 4R25 format. Operators can therefore see the individual charging status of each battery when accessing if they need recharging or not.

The robust charging case has a weather resistant charging point with UK plug and in-vehicle adapter as standard. Mains charging can bring a case of 8 batteries to full charge within 2-3 hours.

Charging cables are unique to this product, in the event of theft batteries can only be charged with our proprietary cable, use of any other cable will render the battery unusable (ONLY USE CABLES AS SUPPLIED).  We considered this a useful deterrent for opportunistic misappropriation and will only supply customers who have previously purchased items from ourselves.

Up to 500 recharges were specified as a minimum when these lithium batteries were designed, if you are replenishing disposable 4R25 batteries frequently i.e. 4 say times a month, within 3-4 months you have made a return on the rechargeable battery element of the kit. Within  6-7 months traffic management operators could have recouped their investment in a case set of rechargeable batteries and from this point forwards are saving money not having to make further purchases of replaceable 4R25 batteries.

Everyone will have different ways of working out the cost of ownership but keeping it really simple here is an example, not taking into account anything such as replacement costs through damage/loss etc…

If you are replacing a basic battery in a road lamp 4 times per month that’s £72.00 a year, over a 3 year period that’s £216.00 Keeping 8 road lamps illuminated could equate to £1728.00 over a 3 year period.

Now compare that to a case set of 8 rechargeable batteries costing less than £360.00 over a 3 year period that is potentially a saving of up to £1378.00.

Recharging obviously has a cost associated to it but that works out to pennies per week, the cost saving potential is simply enormous for businesses willing to commit to an initial higher outlay with the vision that within months they can will begin to start saving money. It just takes a change of mindset and foresight!

Consider switching to a renewable form of power, it ticks the financials box and also provides those green credentials important for successful contract wins.

Now Add Solar Road Lamps to the Equation!

In co-ordination with the release of the rechargeable battery case set of 8 we have also released a range of solar assisted road lamps. A large solar panel augments the battery power supply, now you have a rechargeable battery gaining a significant amount of power for free during the summer months and that means longer periods between maintenance activity – not as much inspection, less time swapping batteries and less transport disruption.

In tests we found battery changes could be reduced by as much as 45% down to the fact that our solar assisted cone lamps have large latest spec solar panels that produces 800mAmp of power. In summer some models of our lamp that activate only in low light with a single flash become almost self sufficient, that alone presents a massive labour saving opportunity.

The cost saving scenario increases even more dramatically Click here for more information about our solar assisted traffic cone lamps.
