Description

Asynchronous Collision Cone Warning Light – Wireless Impact‑Triggered Hazard Beacon

Wireless Collision Warning System for Traffic Cones

The Asynchronous Collision Cone Warning Light is a cone‑mounted emergency beacon featuring a wireless collision alert system. Under normal operation, all units flash in unison at one‑second intervals. If any light is struck, a rapid‑flash instruction is wirelessly transmitted to up to 32 lamps within a 160m range.

This synchronised rapid‑flash pattern provides a clear and immediate indication that a barricade breach or impact has occurred.

Automatic Reset

After 30 seconds, all units automatically revert to the standard flash pattern. No manual reset is required, reducing maintenance overhead and ensuring continuous operational readiness.

Blue or Yellow LED Options

Available with blue LEDs (emergency services only) or yellow LEDs, the beacon provides 360° visibility and fits into traffic cone apertures of 3.2cm or larger.

Flexible Mounting Options

The integrated twin clips/arms allow the Emergency Warning Light (EWL) to be hung from cones or road signage. Each arm includes fixing apertures for cord, tape, or cable ties, enabling operators to link multiple lights together to maintain barricade integrity.

When lights are strung together, any intrusion into the exclusion zone is more likely to trigger a warning, as vehicles cannot pass through gaps without disturbing the connecting cord or tape.

Powered by 2 × AA Batteries

The slim design allows the light to be inserted into cone apertures without accessories. Powered by 2 × AA batteries, the unit is compact, portable, and ideal for emergency deployment.

Versatile Deployment Options

The twin supporting arms clip securely around collared cones, preventing the light from falling into larger apertures and helping it remain in position if the cone is toppled.

Tip: Linking cones with cord or barricade tape can help transfer impact forces and trigger warnings even if only one EWL is struck. This is useful when deploying a limited number of collision‑warning units.

Compact Design for Traffic Cones

Many cone lights are bulky due to larger battery requirements. The EWL is intentionally compact for emergency scenarios, allowing it to sit inside cone apertures without additional accessories. It can also be hung from signage using its twin arms.

Competing products such as eFlare™ typically require more batteries, increasing width and limiting mounting options. By using two AA batteries, the EWL remains slim while still providing sufficient power for short‑term emergency deployments.

Operation

The light is activated by twisting the main battery housing. Under normal conditions, it flashes once per second. Upon impact, a wireless Bluetooth signal triggers all nearby units to switch to rapid‑flash mode.

Rated to IP67, the unit is weatherproof and built for demanding environments.

Up to 32 units can be deployed over 160 metres, all synchronising automatically when any one unit is impacted.

Dependable AA Battery Power

Replaceable AA batteries provide certainty for operators working in shifts — Police, Fire & Rescue, Highways, and Construction — who cannot rely on rechargeable devices being fully charged at handover.

AA batteries are widely available in virtually all retailers and petrol stations, ensuring operators can easily source replacements.

Quality AA batteries provide approximately 4 hours of operation. As the light is designed for emergency deployment, duration was balanced with the need for a compact cone‑mounted design.

Accessories

No accessories are required to mount the EWL inside a traffic cone, provided the cone has a top aperture. If the aperture is too small, the unit can be hung by its arms/clips.

The arms also allow mounting on road signage using cable ties, rope, or cord for additional security.

A ground‑mounting base is planned for future development and can be fast‑tracked for large order quantities. This would be similar to the base used on our KB Flare range of warning lights.
