Illuminate traffic cones with a bright LED Light Wand Kit for Traffic Cones.
A traffic wand on top of a traffic cone provides a highly visual, elevated, 360 degree light capability without the bulk associated with other traffic cone mounted lighting. Plus as single colour wands have coloured sleeves they are both daytime and bright night-time visual reference points.
Usage Case
Picture an event or location where an entry or exit point needs to be visually marked, for example a ferry port and entry lane to a ship – often lanes will be numbered but place a pair of traffic cones with coloured traffic wands on top and you get a very clear reference point with illumination to communicate to observers i.e. ‘proceed to the green lane please’
As there is little bulk or weight to a wand it’s extremely easy to reposition as required, moving them from one cone to the next using the magnetic properties of the wand and cone adapter (the same cannot be said of bulky traffic cone lamps).
Fixing Options
Traffic wands use our lightweight cone adapter which is dropped over a traffic cone, the metallic plate on the cone adapter and the marshalling wand’s magnet, provide a flexible fixing mechanism.
Wands can also be permanently fixed to a cone adapter, the screw in battery casing on top of the wand been bonded to the cone adapter. You loose some of the flexibility of moving just a wand around but you get a secure attachment which is also less likely to be ‘borrowed’ we have found! This secure fixing method is suited to environments where high wind may be more of a consideration.
Purchasing Options
Sold as a paired kit, select the colour of traffic wand required and choose if you want the permanent fixing option by selecting Yes, if this is not selected wands and cone adapters will arrive unattached and you will use their magnetic attachment properties only.

Traffic Wand Details
Wands will be the KB20 series which is a 27cm long traffic wand, it has 18 high specification LEDs, the same number as in our longer 37cm version so has the same brightness output.
Our shorter wands are less impacted by high wind so suit this deployment scenario well, longer wands can be connected permanently, we do not recommend a magnetic only mounting where traffic is likely to impact a traffic cone, the physical leverage on a longer wand can overcome the magnetic bond we found whilst conducting our practicality testing!

Permanently bonded wands and cones have the battery housing screw top of the wand glued into a recess on the cone adapter, to change batteries the cone adapter or traffic wand are unscrewed to access the battery housing and reconnected similarly.

Used extensively by the emergency services particularly the police as warning beacons and fire service as LED hazard indicators but equally versatile for commercial purposes, they reduce costs by been rechargeable and extremely robust and could be a more suitable option for a challenging environment.
