Description
This traffic wand has both red and green colour options with a red flash, red solid and green solid light output and a useful white LED nose cone torch feature.
The wand has both red and green LED’s that filter through a translucent film that disperses light along the length of the light tube, evening out light output.
With more LED’s than cheaper alternatives you have a bright output that is visible at greater distances and which stands out in areas of high ambient background lighting.
Operated by a single button the wand is easy to operate and will progress through its functions each time the button is pressed – red flash, red constant, green constant, white nose cone torch, off.
A magnetic base it can be mounted to stationary metallic objects/vehicles and an optional tripod allows it to be deployed on ground surfaces at an elevated level and used similarly to a traffic cones but without the bulk and weight.
An optional traffic cone mounting accessory allows the wand to be deployed in a standalone capacity on top of a traffic cone especially useful for temporary barriers for marking out entry or exit routes etc. (We also have a range of pop up traffic cones that might be of interest)
This model traffic baton has a length of 27 cm’s, belt clip and wrist lanyard it weighs in at just 250grams with batteries installed, a longer 37cm model with exactly the same features can be seen here KB37RG
With more than 15 years of sales the 27cm version has proven one of the most popular traffic wand in our range. It’s portable and been compact is less prone to suffer operator induced damage. Its surprising how many get sat on, a longer wand is more likely to encounter this fate and like a long stick its easier to snap than a shorter wand. We have a post that you may find of interesting regards product Do’s, Don’ts & Consideration’s if you follow this link.
With longer wands we have also noticed a greater tendency for operators to develop a habit of tapping them either into the hand or against other objects. Test this yourself by putting a wand on a table, if picked up odds on someone will start tapping it in some way. With a circuit board running up the length of the light tube it is not a practise to be encouraged and a shorter wand in our experience just doesn’t have the same tapping appeal!
An optional tripod mounting allows the traffic wand to be deployed as an emergency traffic beacon on any surface giving it uses for emergency road demarcation lines, helicopter landing zones and road traffic incidents to name but a few possible applications. Note – remove the uniform clip before trying to mount in tripod.
The wand is sealed offering superior performance in adverse weather conditions and is made of resilient polycarbonate light sleeve and tough ABS handle which makes it resistant to shock and damage.
Ideal for traffic management at large events, on construction sites, for car parks and traffic diversions and visible at over 300 meters in the hours of darkness – a truly valuable piece of equipment which also has an effective torch feature in the nose cone too.

Marshalling wands and banksman batons are used to control the movement of vehicles, plant and equipment, banksman certification with traffic marshal courses are typically short duration training courses that have a high pass rate. This courses will teach operatives recognised vehicle marshalling signals some of which may be specific to the industry you work in.
A simple search of the internet will identify traffic marshal training courses both in your region as well as on-line from as little as £40.00.
Once banksman and traffic marshals have shown competence in how to management the movement of vehicles Knightkit’s range of traffic wands can be used to enhance their signalling efficiency particularly in low light conditions when hand signals alone are not sufficient.
