Description
Single Standard Traffic Cone Lamp with Photocell activation with steady on light function providing a yellow barricade light output for road works, lane closure, detours etc.
The cone lamp when positioned on a traffic cone will automatically power on activating with a non flashing yellow light in low light conditions (photocell activated), from a 1W LED that provides a brightness of over 2CD.
The lamp uses a single standard 4R25 battery (not supplied) which typically provides 1000 hours of operational running time (subject to battery quality) thanks to its efficient LED light source.
Certified to EN12352:2006+AC2009 standard.
Positioning & Powering On
Pushing the road lamp down onto the traffic cone will automatically power the yellow road lamp on as the pressure switch is engaged by the traffic cone, lift to release the switch and power off the traffic cone lamp.
Once powered on a photoelectric sensor will then control the lamp function activating it in low light conditions and turning it off in brighter daylight hours to conserve battery power.
The battery housing flap hoop can be used to clip over the traffic cone nose thus securing the lamp to the cone with more than just a gravity anchoring and also used to position the lamp face down went not in use.
Practical Design
With an uncomplicated design, operators can quickly replace batteries with a minimum of delay. The battery housing is a familiar wrap around the battery and push through the centre design, favoured by operators wearing gloves as easy to access.
The wrap around design of the battery housing also helps keep batteries in place in the event of collision in contrast to some designs that can spill contents if the battery cover is flexed enough to open in a high impact scenario.
The battery connecting points will accept a battery whichever way it is presented making battery replacement quick and efficient.
Replaceable Components
We have listened to traffic management operators who say that the part most liable to suffer from wear is the battery housing, lamps get thrown around a lot especially when been collected and this results in the battery cover rubbing away over time.
We have therefore made it detachable so if it does wear through it can be replaced. Additionally as many lamps suffer damage when deployed on the highways and motorways we have made the lens detachable too.
As these components can be replaced or re-used if components are salvageable from other damaged cone lamps, it makes for a strong economic reason to switch from your existing cone lamp provider whose products generally have no serviceable element to them.
The body of the cone lamp is made from robust easy to clean, bright yellow Polyethylene, the lens is made from durable high impact polycarbonate.
The unidirectional lens designed for maximum light output, incorporates a retro-reflective ring in accordance with DFT standards.
