Aircraft Marshalling Wands

Aircraft Marshalling Wands

Popular Wands for the Aviation Sector

Traffic wands are not just for directing vehicles, construction plant and people but importantly aircraft and around the UK and Europe you will see our aviation marshalling wands been used on airport aprons by many of the well known operators such as Swissport, Menzies Aviation etc.

Aircraft apron operations favour our longer range of aircraft marshalling wands, at distance the longer length helps pilots identify their landing zone or gate with our KB37AV  Dayglow Orange/Red wand and KB37R long red traffic wand been favourites.

Both wands are 37cm’s in length but differ in that the KB37AV has a single 1W LED in the handle that directs light into  brightly coloured sleeve whereas the KB37R which has 18 LED’s in the actual light sleeve itself.

What Wand Best Suits…

There are benefits to each type of marshalling wand but the most notable difference is the softer light emitted by the KB37AV which is well suited to night-time operations where a pilot may be using NVGs (hence popular with the armed forces).

With its bright dayglow coloured light sleeve making it well suited to daytime operations even without any illumination, the KB37AV is one of our most popular for airport ops.

The KB37R on the other hand with it’s 18 LED’s sited in the transparent sleeve is much brighter and has more commercial aviation appeal we find as they can be seen at long distances,  it helps the operator wants to stand out against the high levels of ambient background light found at busy airports.

We have other colours available with amber and yellow been popular choices within the aviation sector as these differentiate themselves well against background vehicle light i.e. standout against rear lights and break lights on the apron.
