Description
Single Standard Traffic Cone Lamp – Photocell Activated Yellow Barricade Light
Automatic Photocell Barricade Lamp
This single yellow/amber traffic cone lamp provides a steady‑on barricade light output for road works, lane closures, detours, and general traffic management. When positioned on a traffic cone, the lamp automatically powers on and activates in low‑light conditions via its integrated photocell sensor.
A 1W LED delivers a bright, non‑flashing yellow output exceeding 2CD, ensuring clear visibility for motorists and site operators.
Long Battery Life
The lamp uses a single standard 4R25 battery (not supplied), typically providing up to 1000 hours of operational runtime depending on battery quality. Its efficient LED light source ensures reliable long‑duration performance.
Certified to EN12352:2006+AC2009.
Positioning & Powering On
Pushing the lamp down onto a traffic cone engages the pressure switch, powering the unit on. Lifting the lamp off the cone disengages the switch and powers it off.
Once activated, the photocell sensor automatically controls the lamp’s operation, switching it on in low‑light conditions and off during daylight to conserve battery life.
The battery housing flap hoop can be clipped over the cone’s nose for additional security, providing more than just gravity anchoring. It can also be used to position the lamp face‑down when not in use.
Practical Design
The familiar wrap‑around battery housing design allows operators to replace batteries quickly, even when wearing gloves. The housing pushes through the centre of the lamp, securely holding the battery in place and reducing the risk of battery displacement during collisions.
Battery connecting points accept the battery in either orientation, making replacement fast and efficient.
Replaceable Components
Traffic management operators often report that battery housings are prone to wear due to lamps being thrown during collection. This lamp’s battery housing is detachable and replaceable.
The lens is also detachable, allowing damaged lamps to be repaired using salvageable components from other units. This provides a strong economic advantage over lamps with no serviceable parts.
The lamp body is made from robust, easy‑to‑clean yellow polyethylene. The lens is high‑impact polycarbonate with a unidirectional design for maximum light output and includes a retro‑reflective ring compliant with DfT standards.
