Police Safety Light History
When we started business in 2005 we had developed a low cost police safety light that used 2 X AA batteries had 5 LED’s for wide beam dispersal and was fixed with a rudimentary plastic clip. It was a little bulky in comparison to our range today mainly due to the LED technology and the batteries required to power them.
Fast forward 20 years, our new range of Police PPE safety lights use small button cell batteries or rechargeable lithium powered batteries and are much more compact, lightweight, brighter and versatile as a result.
Police Safety PPE Range
The KB03 is blue only button cell powered light that has a crocodile style clip with an optional Klickfast docking stud so can be mounted extremely securely. Weight is minimal and been so compact it adds nothing to the burden carried by police officers at less than 33 grams, in fact all our lights weigh in below 60 grams so weight or bulk should no longer be a consideration. Plus there’s no heavy batteries to spill out of units like you might have encountered with earlier generation police personal safety lights, all our range are either no maintenance sealed units or have screw fastenings like the KB03.
The KB04 is a small rechargeable short duration tactical light, we added it to our range for those situations where police officers requested a helmet mounted rechargeable light that would identify specialist teams. It has a useful duration of 4 plus hours even though it is so very small and it is surprisingly bright, bright enough that they are popular in the construction sector as an operative safety light worn on hard hats with red light to the rear and white light to the front.
Our KB05 is a rechargeable police light, a study design with multiple features including dual high/low beam frog eye torches it has a red/blue forward facing flashing feature, bright and highly visible it will last a full shift. A metal clip allows it to be cap worn or suspended via a fixing loop point (key ring style) having a torch as well as a forward facing lantern it makes for an excellent area search light as well as safety light when set to its blue/red flashing feature. A magnetic base allows it to be stood hands free which also makes it a useful tool when working in enclosed spaces where traditional torches would be too bulky and difficult to use.
The KB06 has more power output due to its larger rechargeable battery, which makes it the largest of the range but still only 7cm X 4cm with a 2cm depth weighing in at just 66 grams.
It benefits from larger LED’s and a COB wide beam adjustable angle area search light. With greater output you have more visibility, the red/blue flashing sequence is the same as our KB05 but with LED’s that are 30% larger you have the most visible of all our police safety lights making them well suited to fast roads and motorways.
There was space on this unit for an LED power status indicator so police officers can see what is left in the battery before a quick charge is needed. A strong metal clip provides officers with fixing options and a magnetic base with adjustable tilt beam is ideal for confined space work.
